After breakfast this morning, at 08:30 hrs you will be picked up at your hotel by your guide for a tour of Wat Pra Keo and the Grand Palace.
Wat Pra Kaew is home to the Emerald Buddha, one of Thailand's most important religious artefacts. The Grand Palace is the former residence of Thai monarchs and is one of the most beautiful examples of ancient Siamese architecture. Right next to the palace is Wat Po, the oldest temple in Bangkok with the biggest reclining Buddha and the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand.
Afterwards enjoy an hour trip by longtail boat along the klongs (canals) and the Chao Praya River.
You will have lunch at the Jim Thompson House.
This afternoon a car will be at hand to take you to visit the Jim Thompson House, a beautiful teak wood home built by the American entrepreneur who started the silk industry in Thailand. After disappearing mysteriously while on a vacation in the Cameroon Highlands of Malaysia in 1967, he was never heard from again; but his house, located along a small klong or canal, is a fascinating stop and houses a small but most impressive collection of Asian art, as well as his personal belongings.
Return to your hotel with the evening free at leisure.
